Turned Down

the rejection

So you built up all that courage to ask her out and she rejected you. Stop sulking. Being turned down is inevitable in the dating game. Here’s how you bounce back with flair.

First, you need to busy yourself with something else to take your mind off of the let down. Hang out with friends or family – they always know how to cheer you up. Or get some intense exercise. Train for a marathon, try kayaking or indoor rock climbing, or simply go to the gym and jam out to that iPod! Of course, you can always use the disappointment to encourage some overtime at work, and really impress your colleagues with your newfound energy. Any way to relieve that pressure while gaining your confidence back is a perfect way to utilize that anticlimax.

The next step is to gather yourself together again with a different approach. Already feeling better about yourself, rehash the previous attempt, and decide whether it simply wasn’t meant to be or if there’s something you could do differently. Don’t think too hard about it; just ponder a few possible improvements to your dating repertoire. It’s all about adapting while maintaining the essence of which is you. Don’t change your personality or interests for anyone, but consider your interaction with women, and really hone in on how you make her feel. It’s never an issue of who you are; it’s all to do with how the other person feels, and in turn, how they make you feel.

Some important rules of dating to remember are creating pressure-free atmospheres, embodying honest and casual qualities, and sending friendly yet subtle flirtatious vibes to that other person. Following these guidelines, dating can be enjoyed for what it is, and you will see that rejection is a natural part of socializing instead of feeling like you’ve been singled out.

Again, don’t worry if she’s not interested. Everyone’s got their own agenda and you’ve got yours. So stay in high spirits and never let a rejection hold you down from dating.
