10 Qualities of the Perfect Guy

Has anyone ever asked you what you look for in a guy? For many women, there are certain qualities that are considered absolute necessities when it comes to men. However, we’re not talking about the physical qualities (although those are nice too); we’re talking about the inner qualities and personality traits that make up a guy.

Below is a compilation of personality traits that should be considered as you meet new guys. No two men are the same, but the following 10 qualities are ones that any man can and should have. For the fellas, check the list to see which of these qualities you possess.

Honest & Loyal

First and foremost, women need a guy who is going to be truthful and faithful. We hear way too many stories about cheating boyfriends and spouses nowadays. No woman should ever waste her time on a man who lacks both of these qualities. These are the qualities that set the tone to the relationship, without these what is the point of being together? Men who are honest and never let the woman second guess herself or the relationship are the keepers.

Open-minded & Communicative

Being in a relationship means sharing feelings and experiences with another person. A guy who is open to doing new things, especially things that make you happy, gets a gold star in our books. If a guy makes no effort to try new things that interest you, is it really worth it? Also, while some guys may have a tough time expressing their emotions, women want someone who will at least make an effort to do so. Open communication is key to the success of the relationship and that’s what we both want isn’t it?

Fun & Positive

No one has time to be with a Debbie Downer; ladies want a guy who is upbeat and fun to be around. If you’re going to be spending a lot of time with them, who wouldn’t want someone who can motivate you to do things and give off positive vibes? Women want a guy who is going to laugh with us and see the light at the end of the tunnel when things go wrong; someone who can reassure us that everything is going to be alright. Negative and/or very serious men could take away from a relationship, rather than add to it.

Ambitious & Mature

For most women, it doesn’t matter whether their man is a firefighter or a Wall Street banker as long as they are out there working. Women don’t want men who are lazy and have no drive to be successful. A man who has some sort of goal in life, is able to support himself and handle himself in a mature manner are what women want. Since women tend to mature earlier than men, it is important that we find a man who can mirror our maturity when way too many men today are stuck in the college frat boy mentality.

Caring & Protective

Even if you’re the most independent woman out there, a small part of you probably wants to feel protected by your man. It’s a natural feeling for women to want someone who can protect them and care for them. This is not to say the man should intimidate or be overprotective, but it’s nice to know your guy has your back. He’ll be the type of guy who will take care of you when you’re sick and back you up when problems arise.
