Find Your Love

Take Charge

If 2012 was a hard year and you’re ready for a change then read on. Perhaps Cupid’s favor didn’t strike the way you hoped; so now it’s time to take the bow and arrows of passion in your own hands and catch the love you’ve desired. Chances are love will not show up at your front door, flowers in hand. Although, you may see some cheap solicitations for hot guys and girls in your zip code in your inbox if you don’t have proper junk mail filters in place. But I wouldn’t recommend following those links.

Make a connection

If your heart is forlorn, don’t despair. There are more opportunities to find the love of your dreams than ever before. There are the old fashioned ways: school, sports functions, nightclubs, parks, and the near miss while walking on a busy street corner. The Internet has also expanded the ability to make a connection in ways previously unimaginable.  There are old school chat rooms, roulette chat rooms, dating sites both free and subscription-based, Craigslist (use EXTREME caution), and, if you’re really pressed for action, your local newspapers probably post their classified ads online.

Search in the right places

Think about yourself before you embark on this new adventure of love. What’s your personality? What are you looking for in a significant other? What kind of hobbies do you have that you desire to share? Are you a night owl who likes to party hard into the early morning hours, or are you business-minded? Answering these questions will help you narrow the places to search, reducing the time and energy you spend finding your dream mate.

Act the part

Once you have an idea of the kind of person you are interested in be the kind of person your potential mate would want to be with. If you’re interested in a college student learn something new. If you want to be with a dancer take a workshop in Salsa or Swing dance. If you want to be with someone who’s trim and athletic hit the gym and train for a 5K.

Be adventurous

The most important thing is to remain positive, be daring, and have fun. Dating should be an adventure, not a chore. Get out there, try something new, and make 2013 your best year yet.
