A Valentine’s Day to Remember

A Chance to Celebrate

Call it commercialism, marketing, corporate takeover of a national holiday, or whatever you want to. That doesn’t change the fact that Valentine’s Day is practically tomorrow and your lover is EXCITED!

Be Proactive

Don’t be a bore. We have a culture to share and part of that means enjoying common holidays. I didn’t hear you complaining about the presents and surprise cake you received on your birthday…so it’s time to share the love and that means you’ve got work to do.

  • If your girl is like the other ladies I know then she wants February 14th to be a special day. Plan a full day of romance and make this year one she will remember.
  • You don’t have to break the bank to make a holiday special. If you want to break the bank, break it, but most women are moved by sentiment rather than sticker price.

Start the Holiday with the First “Good Morning”

Valentine’s Day begins in the morning when you wake up, preferably before she opens her eyes. She needs to know you haven’t forgot the special day. Beginning in the morning makes a better Valentine for you and your lover.

Lavish Love and be Ravished

She desires to lavish you with love and affections throughout the day. That’s good for you, so set the trend. When you don’t acknowledge the holiday she may feel awkward about bringing up the elephant in the room in fear that you forgot. The last thing she wants to discover is that you forgot!

The right gifts for the right girl

Be creative. Think about your relationship. What would she like? Breakfast in bed? A thoughtful card? A room full of flowers? Prepare for a romantic day and follow through. Watch her smile grow as she sees your thoughtfulness throughout the day and reap the rewards.

Make it special

If you’re both able to have Valentine’s Day off plan a day out. Be proactive and work up an itinerary. Go to places that are special to her and to you as a couple. If your lover has to work have a sweet surprise ready for midday. Most of the women I know love flowers at work. They eat up the attention and reconstitute it in the form of a soft glimmer on a brightly lit smiling face. If your love is artistic a commissioned work of art or a poem may be more appropriate for your lady’s midday surprise. Whatever you do, you can’t go wrong if you put your heart and sentimentality into it.

A night to remember

Finally, make Valentine’s night one to remember, book reservations at her favorite restaurant, the place where you had your first date, or splurge a little for a fancy restaurant. If you are the outdoors type a late night star filled walk may be what she will appreciate the most.

Be creative, show your love, and reap the rewards.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
